Woodblocks, Emblems, Britannias & more

The society were delighted to welcome a display from one of our members, Mike Nethercott, who took the opportunity to share with us a high quality collection of wonderful material, acquired over many years.

The theme was Woodblocks, Emblems, Britannias & more, with a focus on the quality of stamp design and production, along with stories about how the stamps came about and their lifetime and usage. Part one focused on Australian states, Barbados and Brunei and part two included what we believe to be the very first display the society has seen on material from Vatican City and overall, the quality of the material was excellent and everyone enjoyed the talk.

A vote of thanks for Mike was given by Steve Speak, who presented him with a certificate to mark the occasion.
