Philately & the Internet to finish the 2016 programme
On 13th December we held the final meeting of 2016 and as is tradition now this was the Chairman’s evening. The new Chairman, Jonathan Guy, gave a slide presentation covering one aspect of philately and the internet, namely buying from online auction websites.
The presentation covered a range tools and techniques which can be used to buy from websites such as eBay and Delcampe by ‘sniping’ rather than simply bidding.
The presentation was supplemented by a display of some of the items that had been won via ‘snipes’ over the preceding weeks.
The meeting closed with a mini auction of some albums of material and catalogues kindly donated to the society.
