Another successful club auction and competition

As we approach the end of the current season, we held our annual auction and this time, the delayed Plate Competition for a six sheet display.

We were fortunate this year in that we had a wonderful assortment of lots to auction and by chance, a real auctioneer available to help us out. The auction was run by Vincent Green of Sandafayre and we raised a lot of money for club funds. There was an enormous diversity of material from old catalogues, to commonwealth stamps, to foreign stamps, a range of covers, postcards and even a watermark detector.

Most people came away with one or more lots to add to their collections and a successful raffle saw a range of prizes distributed to members who were present.

The society would like to thank Vincent for all his hard work helping us with the auction.
